Provepharm launches Zyogreen® in the UK, first ready-to-use indocyanine green
Provepharm launches Zyogreen® in the UK, first ready-to-use indocyanine green, fluorescent diagnostic dye for surgical visualisation and precision medicine
Following MHRA approval, Zyogreen® becomes UK’s only ‘ready-to-use’ indocyanine green dye for ophthalmology, breast cancer surgery, cardiology and hepatology, offering hospitals and healthcare professionals new standard in surgical visualisation and precision medicine
Innovative diagnostic dye solution marks Provepharm’s entry into fluorescence imaging market and supports long-term innovation and growth strategy
Marseille, France, July 1st, 2026 – Provepharm, a leading international pharmaceutical company specialising in medical dyes, today announces the commercial launch of its licensed medicine Zyogreen®, a ’ready-to-use’ indocyanine green, fluorescent imaging agent, in the United Kingdom.
Fluorescence imaging gives surgeons real-time visibility of anatomical structures and physiological processes that are otherwise invisible to the naked eye. Healthcare professionals across the UK conducting procedures in ophthalmology, oncology, cardiology and hepatology now have access to Provepharm’s ready-to-use indocyanine green dye, which can be administered directly without the need for reconstitution prior to injection.
Zyogreen is approved for several indications, including the intraoperative identification of sentinel lymph nodes and visualisation of lymphatic pathways during breast cancer surgery, as well as ophthalmologic angiography for the assessment of choroidal perfusion. It can also be used to measure liver blood flow and excretory function, as well as cardiac output and stroke volume, circulating blood volume and cerebral perfusion.
This is Provepharm’s sixth product launch in the UK, following the introduction of its indigo carmine surgical dye, Blumyne®, in 2024. It further strengthens the company’s position as a leader in medical dyes through its differentiated portfolio of innovative solutions. Zyogreen is available to healthcare facilities across the UK through Provepharm’s dedicated key account management team.
This launch marks Provepharm’s entry into the fluorescence imaging market, through an innovative ready-to-use solution where currently available indocyanine green medicines require reconstitution before injection. Designed to simplify preparation and support surgical practice, the ready-to-use format reduces manual handling and preparation time, mitigates potential preparation errors and streamlines operating room workflows. It also helps standardize preparation practices across healthcare facilities and improves operational efficiency.
“Zyogreen is a true innovation emerging from Provepharm’s research and development expertise, introducing a new dimension to fluorescence imaging with its ready-to-use formulation,” said Michel Feraud, chairman and founder of Provepharm. “This first commercial launch in fluorescence imaging reflects our long-term commitment to developing innovative solutions that support healthcare professionals and contribute to improving patient care.”
As the demand grows for precision medicine, fluorescence imaging offers a way to improve surgical accuracy and support better patient outcomes. The UK indocyanine green market is experiencing strong momentum, with more than 36,000 units estimated in 2025 (source: GPRX England extrapolated to UK) and sustained growth of approximately 25% per year over the last three years, highlighting the potential and strategic relevance of Provepharm’s entry into fluorescence imaging.
“Following MHRA approval, our teams are fully mobilized to support hospitals and healthcare professionals across the United Kingdom. Through our dedicated key account management team, we are working closely with hospital pharmacists, surgical teams and ophthalmologists to facilitate access to Zyogreen and support its integration into clinical practice,” said Tim Whelan, UK country manager at Provepharm.
Provepharm plans to expand the availability of Zyogreen with launches in the US in the coming months, followed by a broader expansion across Europe and other international markets from 2027. The approved indications and product availability may vary from country to country, subject to local regulatory approval.
